Delicate

We might kiss when we are alone. When nobody's watching, we might take it home. We might make-out when nobody's there. It's not that we're scared, it's just that it's delicate...

These are some song lyrics that I've come to understand in my life. There are so many things in life that are just, well, delicate. They aren't explainable, understandable, or even welcomed sometimes. Damien Rice, writer of this song, says it quite simply that some things need to be handled a little more carefully than others: feelings, emotions, words. Words can say so many things, but what's more than words, are physical interactions. When two people are very close to each other, sometimes there aren't enough words in the English dictionary to describe the way you feel. How do you tell someone you care about them and are going to be sad when you don't see them all the time anymore, when the situation is something you'd describe as, well, delicate? So you say nothing at all, pull them in close, and smile. Can something as simple as being held and being happy be enough to say what you're thinking? Maybe... maybe it's just... delicate.
